Electro Stimulation Acupuncture (or e-stim acupuncture) combines the benefits of electro stimulation therapy and traditional acupuncture. By attaching electric clips to the top of the acupuncture needles, various currents are used to stimulate the muscles, causing them to contract and relax. It’s an odd feeling - but effective. In particular, conditions such as spasmodic muscle disorders, peripheral nerve disorders, and muscle atrophy have been shown to benefit greatly from e-stim acupuncture. It can even provide relief from anxiety and insomnia!
E-stim works by improving micro circulations, increasing metabolic waste removal, and rejuvenating tissue. Please note, however, that this type of treatment is not suitable for patients who are pregnant, have a pacemaker, or have any current heart conditions.
